Terms of Service — yank

Last updated: 2026-06-10 · applies to extension version 0.1.0+

These Terms govern your use of yank, a browser extension that automates web tasks with AI and replays them as reusable macros (“the Service”). yank is published by an independent developer (“we”, “us”). By installing or using yank, you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree, don’t use it.

This is a plain-language agreement for an indie product. It is not legal advice. Where a term conflicts with a mandatory consumer-protection law in your country, that law wins.

1. What yank is

yank runs inside your browser. You give it a task; it uses an AI model — billed to your own API key (“BYOK”, bring your own key) — to carry the task out, and saves the result as a macro you can replay later without further AI cost.

We may add, change, or remove features over time.

2. Your API keys and AI costs

yank does not include AI usage. You connect your own account with an LLM provider (OpenAI, Anthropic, DeepSeek, OpenRouter, Qwen, or a compatible endpoint). You are solely responsible for:

yank never proxies these calls and cannot refund, control, or cap your provider charges.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to use yank to:

You are responsible for everything you automate with yank. It is a tool that acts on your instruction, like your own cursor. You decide which sites it touches and what it does there, and you bear responsibility for those actions.

4. Accounts

If you create a Pro account, you are responsible for activity under it. Sign-in is handled by a third-party identity provider (Google or Alipay); keep that account secure. Tell us promptly if you believe your yank account has been misused. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate §3.

5. Subscriptions, billing, and cancellation

6. Third-party services

yank depends on services we don’t control: your LLM provider, the websites you operate on, your browser, and Creem. We are not responsible for their availability, accuracy, changes, or conduct. Your use of each is governed by its own terms.

Independence. yank is an independent product. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any AI model provider (including Anthropic, OpenAI, or Google). yank does not resell AI access — you bring and pay for your own provider API key, and yank acts only as an interface to the model you choose.

7. Licence and intellectual property

8. Disclaimers

yank is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind. Web automation is inherently fragile: websites change, AI models make mistakes, and a macro that worked yesterday may fail or behave unexpectedly today. You are expected to supervise yank’s actions, especially on anything consequential (purchases, posting, sending messages, irreversible changes). We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for any particular purpose.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for loss of data, profits, or provider/API charges, arising from your use of yank. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the amount you paid us for Pro in the 3 months before the claim (which, for free users, is zero).

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

10. Termination

You may stop using yank and uninstall it at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you breach these Terms. On termination of a Pro account, the account record described in our Privacy Policy is deleted; your local data is unaffected.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. The “Last updated” date will change, and material changes will be surfaced in the extension. Continuing to use yank after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Singapore, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules, except where mandatory consumer law in your country of residence provides otherwise.
